Anyone know anything about a CLK-GTR residing (or visiting) in the Plano area over the Thanksgiving holiday? A friend of mine says she saw one the Friday after Thanksgiving around The Shops at Willow Bend.

Now, before you go off on me.....I made her get online and find a picture of the car she saw. I sent her to ************* and find me the car. She found the CLK-GTR and said that was it. I have no reason to doubt her. Any ideas, leads, etc...?

If I'm barking up a dead tree, fair enough. But....if that kind of car is in the area....how sweet would that be?

With something like that, I'd try to get in contact with the local Mercedes dealers & see if they can confirm it as well.

If thats true, thats awesome! I work in that area and live about 5 minutes from there too. I'll keep my eyes peeled (as always!).

apparently 25 roadgoing versions were built as a homologation effort by AMG in 1998 and 1999 - priced in the neighborhood of 1.5 million

cool car - won at Le Mans

Damn, that's a crazy sighting. I wonder if the ground clearance is worse than the S7.

...hopefully she didn't mistake it for this one...lol...

Haha....is that one floating around Dallas? What a conversion. I must say, I'm rather impressed.

I know that we haven't had a CLK-GTR in at Park Place, so the only other logical, local places would be Autohaus or Norwoods. Are there any other high-end service places around here that deal in such specialty cars?

Check with Jim Muise with TDM, I'm sure he would have an idea if there really is one in Texas. Quite a risk driving a CLK-GTR on some of those fine north Dallas Roads. (rolls eyes) I can't think of anyone else mentioned that can service an automoble such as that.

Yea....I'll do that. He's a wealth of information. (Jim, if you're reading this, YOU'RE a wealth of information :) ).

I told one of the guys I work with about this and he started to laugh. I wondered how that car would make it through the Plano intersections with such..um...what was the word....gullies? :)
