upshift

hi, does anyone notice when you are in manual mode and you are driving hard, every time you shift up there is a jerk? Is this normal when you are in m/t? i noticed if I am in a/t and the computer does the shifting the tranny is smoother/ no jerk feel.

that jerk you fell is programmed intentionally.
it occurs on hard acceleration in race mode.
if you ease your foot off the gas just a tad while shifting, the shifts are silky smooth.
the posrche pdk2 does not exhibit this behavior on hard acceleration.
i suspect ferrari designed their dual clutch to behave more like a manual tranny.

 

In Auto Mode - If the jerk is over the top or starts increasing most likely your transmission will fail.
I have experienced this and that's how I know.

 

jerk is on m/t mode. no jerk on a/t mode =)

 

My new California 30 behaves just like your 458; only does it when I accelerate hard in manual mode.

 

2012 coupes and up do it more than older coupes and all spiders. I like it.
