I am experiencing a noise on the mid to upper rev range on hard acceleration that sounds almost like a turbo and wondering if it may be a vacuum leak. Anyone experience this? Sounds like it's behind passenger side. - Thanks-Bob

Sure it's not just intake roar? You have a carb car, right?

If it's a US car, it's probably the muffler.

Carb cars have a great sucking sound when you stomp it. If you had a vacuum leak that was large enough to HEAR from the driver's seat, you would have such bad engine performance that you would be pulling hair out.

Hey this is great news. It is a 79 carb car and After I went up one size on the mains it ran like a raped ape, but I started hearing this noise that was not familiar. You know how it is with these cars. Any new noise is suspicious. When I reinstalled my airbox it didn't seem to slip on as easily as it had and I worried that I had squished a vacuum hose and pulled it off. As I said the car is running great except for a slight stumble about 6500 that I am looking into now. I'll tell you something weird though. I almost feel stupid, but I don't really know what this car should feel like at top performance so it's hard to tune properly.

Thanks for all the input and support. I don't think I could own this car without you guys to bounce my problems off of.-Bob
