355 Vent plugs

For those who pressure wash their cars, keeping water out of the air intake vents on a 355 hood can be a small hassle. Tape over them? Sorry, pressure washer instantly blows tape off. Stuff towels in them? Nope, pressure washer saturates towels and squirts them out quick. Fix - Clear Vinyl Tubing. 3/4 in OD. 5/8 in ID. $10 for 10 ft at Home Depot. Cut about 14.5 in with slight angles on each end to fit. Remove memory arc by slipping over pool cue. Do it twice and - Voilà - plugs. I looped recovery string thru mine for easy extraction incase I pushed plugs in to far. Give them a gentle finger squeeze and slip them in the vents. Snug as a bug.
