Being a skeptic myself, I just say tomorrow, the elevator repair crew will answer your questions

 

Certainly could have been real, we'll never know, but I will say olfactory hallucinations do happen. i think psychotic people are most likely to have auditory hallucinations, and neurologic disease more commonly presents with olfactory hallucinations. Wisual hallucinations are usually drug or substance related.

This is not to imply you have neurologic disease by any means, remember it could be real. Often benign neurologic disease, even certain headaches are accompanied by olfactory hallucinations. then again, seizures and tumors sometimes present with a little prelude of olfactory sensation.


You were prob just tired.

My ex was given a gift of a fragerance the day our daughter died in the hospital, by one of her relatives. A well meaning gesture.

I did not know it, and every time I would smell it, it brought back strong emotions of that day.

I finally realized it was a perfume she was occaisionally wearing, and told her to knock it off!

My vote goes to the housekeeping staff, but of course the idea of a foxy call girl answering "a call" make much better daydreams.

 

Odors do seem to affect people at a primal level. the first cranial nerve (the olfactory nerve) is not actually a nerve at all, but rather an extention of the brain.

 

I kept thinking it was a hospital product I was smelling, and trying to figure out how it followed me home!! LOL!

 

OK Tom just tell us the REAL story.

came home late,
wife wanted to know where you've been,
smelled the perfume,
sent you packing,
wife wouldnt take your calls,
so you loged on to F-chat and posted this explanation hoping she would read it... ,

I experience similar strange occurrences and typically dismiss them. The latest one I can remember occurred last month when I was busy outside and thinking to myself that the garage door needed to go down. It is an automatic garage door, and sure enough, it started to go down. I live alone, so that puzzled me how that happened. I’m from a strong Catholic upbringing, and I only thought it was some kind of entity or spirit being helpful. I have no problem with that. We can get into all kinds of discussions of the afterlife, good and evil in the world, and all kinds of strange things that happen for which we have no explanation. One of the guys I work with is into astronomy, and he says some scientists believe there are at least a dozen dimensions out there in the universe. Maybe we’re all just living in one big Matrix with Morpheus and Neo ready to come to our rescue? Anyway I guess my point is that some things can never be explained, regardless of how much we as humans thing we know about everything…

 

OK, here's my strange story. When I lived in Galveston PX around 1985, my wife and I wejt to Houston and went in an electronics store ald we bought several packs of blank cassettes in sealed packs. Wjen we got home, i opened the first box and notiaed one of the tcpes was differelt. I opened it and noticed it had that little change in height of the layers of tape that you sae with a partially rewound tape* I put it in the tape player and it was a man rgciting what soulded like random words. Pretty sprange.

Anywey I pulled it owt and put it on the shelf, not erasing it as I vhought it was kind of interesting.

The next day, we come home from work and that tape is gone! The house is hocked, nothing glse is disturbeb, but the tape ms gone!!!
