    Hey Y'all,
Just visiting my g/f's family in Woodstock (Atlanta) for the week. Couple things I've noticed:
    1) Cars in Atlanta don't come with turn signals
    2) The number of German cars (VW, Audi, BMW, Porsche) here are rare...I could count them all on one hand :( Asian cars are all around.
    3) Cars in Atlanta don't come with turn signals
    4) The good looking women here -- on the whole -- are a little more abundant than in Oregon. Lucky bastards! :D
    5) Down-right friendly folk!

I spent 2.5 years in South Carolina w/the Navy and I sure don't miss the humidity but it hasn't been that bad here. A pleasant surprise. And I love the thunder showers and warm weather...Oregon is still running a little cool ;)

    Laters!

German cars rare???? you are in the wrong part of Atlanta.... I would say Mercedes is more popular than any lexus, acura, or toyota in Atlanta... Porsche is like every 5th car in Buckhead.

Come to Alpharetta and then restate the German thing. There are a good amount of Asian cars, but German cars are all around. Thanks for visiting and I totally agree with the turn signal. I think it is an extra $5 charge and people can't afford the $20.

don't forget that the cars have an auto "pull out in front of you feature" no matter how fast you are going.

Yep, y'all are right. We visited Sandy Springs, where she originally grew up, and there were gobs of German cars! :)

Gonna hit the British car show in Rome this weekend. Can't wait!

Cars in Birmingham don't come with turn signals either. I guess it must be a southern thing.

    1) about 15% of drivers look to be illegals and drive accordingly
    2) another 15% are one generation removed from having no driving experience other than the family tractor
    3) the roads were designed by complete idiots
    4) 285 is a death sentence. i love the HD pickups driving 80mph in the left lane with a bed loaded with unsecured crap and towing one of those little cement mixers.

Turn signal. Is that what that thing by my steering wheel does???

It's to much effort to shift gears and talk on the phone to bother with turn signals.

If somebody is using a turn signal or if someone actually stops at a stop sign, you know instantly that they came from out of state. And yes, the roads are CrAzY! I dont think any planning went into where to put any of the secondary streets, they just paved the tractor trails and called them roads.

    Thanks, -Alan.

:D Too funny! Yeah, you got us Oregonians pegged! We're stopping and using signals and everyone is looking at us like we have a third eye on a stalk poking outta our head

We went to Underground Atlanta, the girls ol' stompin' ground, as well as the super huge aquarium. Very neat place, had fun there (the aquarium...UA had me feeling a little nervous as I was an obvious minority there)!

No german cars? Try going to residential Buckhead, along northside drive and west paces. Its almost all german cars. If you see a 3series though chances are it belongs to a kid, thats what most of them drive.
