I tried to use Vonage about a year ago and it didn't work very well from the service to the product itself.

I just got done switching my home phone to Vonage and I'm beyond delighted. The ordering is great. No upselling or BS rebates that the cable, cel, and RBOC's drive me nuts with. It was exactly what they said it was. The network box showed up when they said it would and it took about 3 minutes to instal. Voice quality is better than my land line was. $24/month. It feels good to unhook the RBOC and not put up with their sales practices. Now if they'd offer something to replace my cable company and Direct TV.

I don't have any business interests with Vonage. It's just nice to cross paths with a company that does business in a straight forward manner.

I just checked my account, as of Nov.11 I've been on Vonage for 3 years. No outages that I can remember, consistently good call quality. Biggest thing is that it's transparent - no one knows that I use them, so no complaints. They were under a lot of pressure for a while but seem to have things figured out now.

My first bill with Vonage was in October 2004. The service has been extremely good, and I've never ONCE contemplated going back to the Bells. No way, no day. In the four years of Vonage, I can probably count less than 3 times the service was out/down.

    A+ recommended.

Does it work with FiOS? It says cable or DSL.

Ok, it says high speed like cable or DSL on another screen. I'm sick of phone bills + long distance. Local bill of $28, plus $3 worth of LD calls with a bill of $15. Guess I'll give it a try...

I used to use Vonage and really liked it. We first installed it about 4 years ago and used it for a couple years. The only reason I gave up on it was because we didn't really need a home line any longer.
