I saw a 365 GT offered recently on a UK based website.

I had a reply a few days later in a very friendly tone describing the car (in this case a 365 GT 2+2) and also some very nice photos of what appeared to be a very nice honest car. The type you wish every car were!!

The guy who responded was named Jim from Risner Farms Autos. They have a website which is pretty poor but a website none the less.

After a few back and forward emails saying he's open to offers and then he would need a $500 deposit he finally requested the full payment as a deposit due to the level of interest he was receiving. He went from in no rush to being in a rush and no inspection was possible pre deposit as he would sell the car to another man etc etc.

The man was basing himself out of Elk City, OK.

I have heard from another contact in the UK that he was in contact with the same man about a Daytona and the emails back and forth were worded in exactly the same way.

Just a heads up from my side!!!!

Take care when buying from unknowns.

If it's too good too be true it probably is!!!

Those cars don't appear on his site any longer and his links to other pics don't work. Good lookin' out! Lots of scammers out there.

Elk City does not strike me as the place to be selling cars like this. It's out in BFE Western Oklahoma. His pricing sure is "attractive"?

Thanks Edward for your merit-ful work.
I would ask the Seller whether he's an Owner of the Vehicle, or registered Keeper of a Vehicle.
Secondly, ask him for a copy of the DVLA. Apparently these are the typical documents , DVLA that contains the T5 forms, and contains the chain of title of ownership reflecting , and the MOT certificate (some form of 'Road Safety requirements that include smog check, headlights check, wheel check etc.)upon the car. At least you have something that you can call the Britain's Vehicle Dept. for verification. I do not have a whole lot of experience in dealing with the British system. But at least I've looked at these documents before when I went to Canterbury, S.E. of London to check out a early 90's Lotus Excel. I'll post some Agency(ies) website where one can call, or write to them for verification purposes. When the stake is high enough.
I've heard they even scam a fake T5 form to make it legit!! Same goes with fake Patek Philippe watches with fake archive forms, not to mentioned fake Geneva Seal, and parts. May t' Holy Spirit serve you Folks well as a reminder Helper....through our Lord Yeshua/Christ. Thanks. Sincerely,Wilson.

Indeed, Elk City is a solid 100mi from OKC, which itself can't support a large-market style exotic dealership. His inventory shots are on gravel for cryin' out loud. As a non-owner, I'd have to guess he struggles to attract buyers, who would only need to travel another 45 minutes or so to get to Boardwalk. Something definitely odd here...

If you are citing the black car in the attached pic you posted.....that background looks like the one used by Beverly Hills Car Club and I think I remember that car listed at least two years ago???

    Buyer ALWAYS beware!
