458 Washing

Hi, just a curious n dumb question. During washing, is it okay to jet water into the air intake beside the windows? Assuming that there is a drainage between the air filter and the air intakes?

 

I wouldn't aim high pressure water directly in there, but it can handle rain, so it's not a problem to rinse it gently.... assuming the drain isn't plugged up with leaves or other debris.

 

i use a pressure washer and foam cannon on my car. i'll sweep across the air intake area but as ^^^ said I will not blast into it directly with high pressure water.

 

I use garden hose pressure, not high pressure washer. Haha. Hopefully it's okay. Regretted after washing.

 

If the vehicle is not "dirty" but has light road dust/film, I have been using "No Rinse Wash & Shine" for a rinseless car wash. Been using this for years with great success on my 458 Spider. I no longer have swirl marks and the product adds layers of gloss. Dip a microfiber towel in the solution lightly "wash" and then use a clean microfiber to dry. After cleaning the paint, I use a different (old) microfiber to clean the wheels. But agree with previous comments if the car is dirty and has to be washed with a hose.
