    I've never seen one like this before. Anyone know anything about it. It had a big web in the yard, but it was across a path so the grass cutters knocked it down.

    They're commonly called Spiny Orb Weavers or Jeweled Spiders. Venomous (as almost all other spiders are), but their venom isn't strong enough to cause much of a reaction in a human being.

    There is already a web being put back together in the same place. I guess they are pretty common I've never seen one before. Its neat looking. Looks like a crab when it moves in the web.
