i just noticed that the last speeding ticket i got in the (goober's) Renault 5 Turbo2 didn't even list ANYTHING about the car itself... what's with that?

does a ticket NEED to have those details???? i've already paid it blindly as usual so this is just hypothetical now and i'm not looking to get goober arrested again... anyhoo, i'm eventually gonna lose my license for all this so um.... yeah...

as for the details, worst thing is i was driving that thing like a rally legend and SURELY would beat anyone through that section on classic adelaide, at the bottom i was just relaxing and cruising watching the scenery, and i got done for 100 in an 80. nice cop and all, (he looked at the car and said, "dam, bet that thing goes fast through here!") just glad he didn't catch me 5-30 mins earlier or i'd be posting with a lot of anal lube!

so, there's no mention of car on my infringement notice, what's the deal with that?????????

It should have the rego number, if so then that is all they need.

I also know someone who was done by a speed camera, and when their infringment notice turned up, the rego number on the notice was slightly incorrect. He thought he could get off but could not.

If he asked for the photo and the photo showed an incorrect plate then he could get off.But if its just a typo error with the notice he received then he has no case

Ash what is the demerit point system like in SA?In NSW you have 12 points for three years and if you use all 12 points you can either lose your license for 3 moths or have a probationary license for 1 year with only 1 demerit point. If your pinged for 30kph and over the sign posted speed limit its an automatic 3 month suspension.45kph and over and you lose it for 6 months.

Is it a ticket on the spot or a speed camera fine?

    Regards,

    Carl.

if u r gonna get arrested its gotta for something good, bit like the dope that schapelle had anyone i know would love to do 20 years with the quality that it was.
but in regards to speeding after the adelaide crows beat hawthorn in 1993 semi, me and a mate got pinged doing 230 in a 80 zone outside Horsham in the ol'mans benz and made front page news in Adelaide, but got a $1500 fine and loss of licence in Vic only for 6 months. Now that i have a road train licence its an "australian licence" so the points lost are reflected aust wide :(

I believe all licences are like that now. I have lost points in NSW and QLD and they have come off my standard Vic licence.

no no no, when I transferred from NSW to Vic I asked the question... no points are transferred when changing tyo a new license (at least in Vic - same deal when I transferred to Qld and NSW). When busted interstate, it depends on the prosecuting body whether the points are transferred to your local licensing dept and the lack of apethy by your local body. Sadly much of the east coast now transfers points - but SA, WA and especially NT are still not on line nationally

    rule #1
transfer your license when nearing max points

I can back that up as well.I got done 128kph in a 110 zone on the way back to Sydney and luckily enough I was just near the border still in Vic and it didn't register on my NSW license.Still had to pay the fine though

I think you guys are lucky not having your points transferred, because I guarantee they are now.

    Cancelling or suspending your licence

Note. Demerit points from other States and Territories count as well! There is an agreement between the States and Territories to exchange details about demerit points.

    Points Demerit Scheme

What happens if you commit an offence interstate?

Any conviction for which demerit points are issued will be recorded against your South Australian Driver’s Licence, whether the offence is committed in South Australia or interstate.

yep, theoretically there's an agreement; however, like most governmental agreements they are manually based... ie. SOMEONE must key or run the file to make it happen. In reality, only serious offfences normally get transferred unless one brings attention to it (pretend it didn't happen). Not speaking from experience of course

Personally I think your right.I asked the Vic cop if I would lose points off my NSW license and he said no.Maybe if you get done for DUI and have to front court then maybe it applies.I think sometimes they might just write these laws down with out always the intention of carrying them out.Maybe just wishful thinking :D

Its the MY04, I think due to customer disgust they raised it to 65kmh in the MY05 model. :p

The engine in my car has no idea what more than 3000rpm feels like, never been there.
