There's a yellow F50 on display in the window of the dealer on Church St.
360C is this yours or is there another yellow one lurking around?

Late to the party as usual; but yes, it is my F50 in the front window. If anyone is interested in having a close up look at one, this is probably your best opportunity to do so.

FWIW, it is the only Giallo F50 in Australia, and I believe that there are 31 Giallo cars world wide.

Last night I went for a drive to draw some insperation and there is no place better to go that church st, boy was i amazed when i saw Scotts car their, i stood in the freezing cold for the better part of 45min just admiring the attention to detial. Everything on the car looks brand spanking new i could seriously not see a single flaw on the car, a true concours car that reflects the owners passion for it.

Question Scott: Is it standard on F50's that the rear view mirror is painted matching colours to the exterior of the car? If not it is certainly a nice touch

I don't think there will be anything on the car that wasn't on it when new! Only cleaner! :D

Scott, this is just me being inquisitive. How long do you honestly think you'll keep the F50 ?. (Not many of us know, how impractical a LHD car is with permits and dealer plates etc. etc.) ???? Just wondering if the novelty will wear off, or is it a long term thing (that's not meant to be nasty either) (just wondering)

Thanks, the F50 is almost how I want it to be now. The mirror is painted body colour by the Factory and I agree it is a nice subtle touch.
You should go and have a look when the showroom is open, no point dying out in the cold.

It is almost factory standard. Phil modified the inlet manifolds as factory fresh, they leaked very badly. It will have a full Tubi exhaust system (including manifolds) when I get around to it. It only takes one listen of the Tubi video to realise that it is a "must". Think early 1990's V12 Formula 1 car- it IS that good.
In the meantime those manifolds look pretty sexy sitting on the F50 Hard top case in my garage :)

I honestly don't know the answer to that one Gil. I have never, ever bought a Ferrari thinking that I will sell it at some point. Each one has been a "keeper" initially; but somewhere along the line something comes about to induce me to sell it. Most often it is because a more appealing Ferrari comes into the picture. Sometimes I get offers to sell that I can't refuse. Currently I am "over" the whole race track thing, having done every FCA track day for the last 7 yrs or so. This is why the Michelotto is up for sale. If/when it sells I will be on the hunt for a 288 GTO.

At the moment I can't imagine selling the F50. I am having lots of fun getting it as close to perfection as I can. It is a fabulous thing to look at, let alone drive. The impracticality is an annoyance; but compared to the Michelotto it seems almost practical..... If I sold it, what would be a "better" replacement?
I don't like the Enzo and a "domestic" Ferrari would be going backwards. There are lots of older Ferraris that would fit the bill; but import duties rule them out. So there are no plans to sell it and the current view is that it is definitely a "keeper". Can't promise that will be the viewpoint forever though.

Do you think you will sell the F40 because of it's impracticality?

I must try and get up to melbourne to take a look at it, having never seen an F50 that hasnt been red. I've been meaning to get to an event to get a look at the car, so this may just be a good opportunity for me:)
how long will the car be in the showroom?

It was there for the Formula 1 weekend. I won't be using it for a couple of weeks, so I suppose it is up to Zagame's.

I would drive a very long way to see an(other) F50, although maybe not for 360C's car anymore after already getting up close and personal with it.

If I knew there was a 288GTO or Enzo or some other rare Ferrari in WA I'd find it hard to not make the trip to see it. :)

Well, that is a very interesting question. It has a few different answers. Firstly, If I needed money, then I guess first thing to go would be the most impractical car I have ....the LM. Secondly, at what point do I become too old to drive these cars and the added drama of actually getting in and out of the cars. I have a love affair with both F40's but it won't last forever, because I won't last forever, so at some point in time, I guess I sell the cars. (I have thought about being buried in the F40's . One foot in one and another foot in the other)
