Ok guys, here's one for you.

The car 95 348 spider w/o cats (test pipes) and factory muffler

When releasing the clutch I get a rattle almost like a exhaust shield rattling on a header, but it isn't that, checked already. Only in first gear, can't duplicate by increasing revs in neutral. Usually comes on from idle to 1600RPM cuts out quickly and only in first, usually when cold. No clutch chatter, really sounds like a exhaust shield vibration. This only happens sometimes so I don't think it is a transmission issue either.

Here is what I checked so far:

    Exhaust heat shield (muffler area)
Exhaust heat shield on the headers
    Muffler mounts (spring mounting)
Tightness of the mouting hardware for test pipes

Could it be the signs of a call to Daniel to order a new throw out bearing, do you think it is a clutch issue at all?

    Thanks guys!

Have you checked for things like the tightness of the steel gravel guard under the alternator ?

Do you have a LeMans grill? Check the tightness of the four center mounting bolts and however you chose to secure the outer edges of the grill.

If you have the stock grill, check if any of the welds came loose on the ends around the corners.

Good idea on the alternator guard, I was working in that area just a bit ago. I better also check the metal shield that covers the drain plug area, I just changed the oil and maybe I didn't tighten those shield bolts down. I did check the grill, didn't set out to but forgot to paint the bolt heads and noticed it the other day so I know those are tight.
