I had a situation recently where my passenger side window wouldn’t go fully closed. It lowered without an issue and when I tried to raise it again went about halfway this time. Now it will maybe raise an inch and sometimes not at all.

I'm certainly aware of the window issues in these cars (motors, grease, ect, ect.), but I have searched a bunch but haven’t found any posts (not that they don’t exist) with a similar theme. I was hoping someone had a little more insight before I start taking things apart.

    Switch ? Connections ?

    Thanks for any help

    Regards Kort

Have you opened up the door card? I had this happen a year or so ago on the driver's side, and it turned out the rear track had just come unbolted from the door. I got the window back on the track, put the little bolt back in, and was back in business.

Does it grind to a halt, or just stop suddenly? Was it slow already?
My passenger window was so fouled with old lubricants that it would grind to a halt and needed a helping hand to get it all the way to the top.

Mine is similar - it will go up and down slowly but slows down at a couple points on the way up and down. I can certainly imagine that it's possible for the grease to get hard enough to just stop a window. Interestingly, with mine, when it's physically warmed up, such as after being in the sun for a few hours on a warm day, it will go up faster and more smoothly.

First, thanks everyone for your replies. I was out of town and unable to respond.

Excuse my ignorance but I'm not sure what a door card is ?.

The windows are very slow, but even with me providing a helping hand the driver’s side still wouldn’t budge. So either the motors are really fouled with old grease or I have a bigger problem.

I will take the door panel off and hopefully it will be something simple.

    Thanks again guys Kort
