Anyone have a good person to remove and replace my windshield.

Original 30 year old glass, but the seal has gone bad and is leaking. Need someone to pull it off, redo the seal, and put it back on again without breaking the glass.

In Boca - in case ya didn't know.

I would NEVER take a car to Safelite. They royally screwed up window replacement on an SL500 that I owned several years ago. They also did a similar shoddy job on my ex-wife's car. I ended up having another shop correct their poor installation and repair damage done to upholstery, window regulator, etc.

OK, one for Safelight - one against.

    Not very helpful folks.

Has no one else dealt with windshield replacement? In Arizona, where they chip seal the streets, you'd be lucky not to replace one a year.

I would suggest contacting Tim Stanford Foreign Cars or Black Horse Performance if you haven't done so already. The are both highly respected F-car shops in Ft. Lauderdale. If by chance they don't do windshields, they can refer you to a competent specialist.

1st Class European Authorized Coachworks worked on my 308 many years ago...they called in someone to do the glass for my car. Guy placed rear-view mirror incorrectly and did a sloppy job on the sealant around the bottom of the windshield. Can't remember his name...but I would not recommend 1st Class...for many reasons, the windshield is just one. I know, not very helpful...but sometimes it's good to know who not to go to.

If it is broken/cracked, call your insurance company. In Florida, it is considered 'no fault', and has a zero deductible.

I would agree with the post suggesting you contact Tim Stanford. If you want it done correctly, he would know.
