I am contemplating on replacing my windshield on 62GTI
There are lot's of scratches and pits...
Has any one had any problems that I need to be aware of before starting this new task.

There 12 bolts all the way around in the inside....

If anyone could give me some advice, I would greatly appreciate it..
    Thanks
    Olivier

Are you looking for a source for a new windshield, or advice on how to remove and refit the one you have?

I pre purchased from MIE a new windshield
I am looking to see how easy or problematic it will be to remove and re install the new windshield.

In that case, Frank, Trevor, or Ivan would probably be your best bet.

    Good luck!

This is not a job to be taken lightly. This might be a good time for Mark Mcfletch to weigh in as he has just replaced his.

Frank's right, look at all of Mark's thread,...

Taking it out is the easy part. Do you have a new seal? Fit the seal to the windshield and check for fitment. Then fit it to the car i.e. make sure you've got the correct one.

Try Mark's thread there is a lot of good information and problem solving there!

Have you considered having your current windshield polished? Replacing a 3500GT windshield is not a fun task.
