    It hasn't been signing on for the pst two weeks, is this something I can fix without spending money on FixWinMx or is it their system that's having problems? Someone please help

    I believe they've gone offline completely due to lawsuits or something like that...

    Limewire is one of the better choices but there's an increase in spam crap on there and bogus files. Bittorrent sites are also a good alternative unless you're just looking for a single file or song.

    The same thing happened to me for WinMX, the not signing in. So I got LimeWire. It's way better It's easier to use, Better results, faster downloads, and some other things.

    For those wed to WinMX (like me), the directions noted in the link above actually show you a solution to get WinMX working again. I am very technologically incompetent, yet managed to implement the fix. All it takes is downloading and saving a "host" file to a particular directory within Windows.

    I'd encourage you to implement the fix as well, and get WinMX up and running again so we can resurrect one of the best P2P sites around!

    There's an easier way a friend of mine uses now... he went to
    www.winmxgroup.com and downloaded the version 1.9 which includes a DLL patch so the hosts file kludge isn't necessary.
