Doesn't look that bad. LOL I'm sure you can find plenty of good parts on there to sell on Ebay and make a small fortune.

I saw another red coupe with the same rust issues, for sale in Burbank a few years ago. It was from Malibu, where it (obviously) spent a lot of time in the salty ocean air.

    Sad case(s).... both.

Please forgive me if you find my suggestion offensive - But if that were my car or by some whim of fate it ended-up in my posession; I would scrap the car, selling what parts I could to other Mondial owners. Then take the motor and put it in a Hawk Stratos.

IMHO: That would be a fine fate for that car.

I would not look at it as the worst Mondial ever.

I would look at it as an opportunity to resurrect a fine car from its current state of disrepair.

Think how nice it would be to drive a nice shiny version of what you already have.

What's with the Bertone X1/9 badges on the nose and lr quarter? I've seen Ferrari badges on Fiats, but never the reverse!

    RIP Mondial...

I have indeed seen worse, but this would take a lot of work to get back to a solid car.

That jumped out at me too. Get the mechanicals in driving shape and drive the hell out of it. What year is it?

Pristine F cars are a dime a dozen (so to speak), but how many ****box Ferraris do you see? Be unique!

Does it pass inspection? Rust doesn't make undrivable. You could remove the bonnet and rear lid and use it for hauling firewood on the ranch. You might want to put truck tires on it though. I'd think it would go good through the mud due to where the engine is located, similar to an old VW.

Depends on the state - it would not pass inspection in NJ like that, even if it worked/functioned 100%.

California didn't have a safety inspection, only the emissions. It would probably be allowed to run out there if it ran clean.

There is something so appealling about this car. Especially if it runs at all. I'd love to drive this to the local show. Everyone has a red 308, and is somewhat forgetable, but this car. Wow. No one would forget the person driving it. It says "I don't care about anyone else, I do what I want". Some high-mighty types would joke, but the real car people would love to be able to see whats under the shin of a modial, how you got it, history, etc.

There's classic and then there's this classic that hopefully has really been used.

Rust did that to the quarter panel?

My first thought was someone needed some sheet metal real bad and figured it was faster than a trip to the store!
