    Hi,

I am a fairly new ferrari owner, this is actually my first ferrari, an F430.

My question is regarding the yearly service.

I asked a ferrari dealership on doing a low miles yearly service and they quoted me for $1700 for it.

Does it run really this much? From what I understand, it includes inspection and oil change only.

    does anybody had this experience?

$1700 sounds high. Mine ran about $1100 to $1200. No, it's more than just those two things but I won't lie to you, it's a lot of money for what it is.

just did mine, it was $11xx without the oil change and with oil change is like $1500 + tax.
They are not that expensive especially when you only do it once a year. older models F car will cost you a lot more to maintain.
That includes inspectoin and other fluids changed / flush etc when I did mine.

Wow. I thought it would just be $500 or something.

I think my wife wants to me to sell the car right now when I told her about it.

I guess if it is a yearly service, not really bad. But still, seems to be its price just because of the brand.

I am not complaining I love this car and I am going to pay for it.

I just want to be sure I am not being looked at as a SUCKER by my dealer.

    Thanks

I wouldn't say you're a sucker. It's a little high but not to the point of being a sucker. You can always ask for an itemized list of what it entails in advance.

One thing does help with these is resale. When the next buyer sees that you do the yearly service on schedule, it helps them to choose your car over one with no records.

Don't be upset though. My Mini Cooper runs $250 for just an oil change. That, to me, is simply outrageous.

First bit of advice, don't tell the wife about the related costs ;).

I think I saw your post at sixspeed too, like I said, I thought closer to $1k than $1.8k for the F430 annual fluids/inspection service.

I think it should be closer to 1k to 1200. Maybe you should ask them what they do for a yearly service, it is possible that they include more than just the typical fluid change.

Maybe you could inquire if they are also planning on brining in a personal masseuse to work your inner thighs while you wait?

Thats one of things that will make me want to do it with a Ferrari dealer, for resale. Although I think I will keep her forever.

I am anal about keeping my cars on tip top shape.

I was just spoiled by BMW and Land Rover for providing free maintenance service.

Porsche is cheaper actually to maintain than my 3 series.

After I told her about the price, she just closed her eyes in dismay.

She has not had a ride in my ferrari yet, I am trying to convince her to ride with me so that she understands the thrill of driving this Fantastic car.

You need to buy any 2012 model. They come with 7 years free maintenance that's transferable. I have one! :) Brakes are not included though because new CCB pads run about 5 grand.

Also, the California and 458 need about half the scheduled maintenance and costs of the cars before them.

Not sure I agree with the part in bold.

I have a 348: I have changed my gear oil twice, engine oil three times, coolant twice, brake fluid once - all in a three year span, and it hasn't cost me $11xx for ALL of that over the past three years, whereas you are paying that EACH year.

Yes, but who did the work: you, an indy or a Ferrari dealership?

$1700 is the highest I've ever heard/been quoted for the annual on a 360/430.

The annual consists of (or should anyways) ALL new fluids and filters and an inspection.

I would ask for a detailed quote from your dealer and then get a couple from other dealers and compare and find out why its more expensive. The local dealer here charges $1100 (15% off this month means its only $950 currently) and their labor rate is IIRC $150 per hour.

Your dealer is either doing something more or something isn't right with the quote or their labor rate is (way) over $200 per hour?

Let us know what you find out...

What did they do beyond the fluids, filters, inspection (aka "annual") for the extra $1700 at the 15k service?

I have both the 348 & 360 so I can tell you that the 348 will catch up quickly once you do the major. I have done all the fluid changes myself and it has only been about $100 but when you shell out $7k for the major it quickly catches up.

Ferrari LI and Ferrari Ft Lauderdale does the full annual fluid sevice for $950. Oil change only for $195. Go to their site and check it out. I just had mine done. $1700 sounds way over the top.

I've paid around $600 for a one-year service (oil change and brake flush) and around $1150 for a two-year service (all fluids changed).

Not wanting to doubt the experts, but tell me....why do you need a complete fluid change yearly if you don't track the car and probably put ~ 3k miles on it? ...oil/filters I can understand...but DOT4 brake fluid.....radiator flush...gearbox oil...
