Anyone know the story on this one? Maybe looked at it recently? It's been on ebay a least a couple of times lately; looks nice, needs cambelts (for time anyway), anything else? Previous owner here on FerrariChat?

    Thanks in advance.

"UP FOR BIDS IS A VERY CLEAN 1992 FERRARI MONDIAL T CABRIOLET. THIS REMARKABLY CLEAN CALIFORNIA CAR WAS JUST TRADED INTO US ON A 456. ITS PREVIOUS OWNERS CARED FOR IT METICULOUSLY, AND IT SHOWS. THIS CAR IS IN IMMACULATE CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT, AND SHOWS NO SIGNS OF EXCESSIVE WEAR. MECHANICALLY IT RUNS LIKE A TOP AND HAS HAD ALL OF ITS REQUIRED MAINTENANCE DONE. ALL SERVICE RECORDS ARE INCLUDED WITH THE CAR INCLUDING THE 15 & 30K SERVICES. A TUBI EXHAUST SYSTEM AND AIR FILTER WAS INSTALLED IN 2003. MOST RECENTLY IT RECIEVED A FULL 30K, NEW CLUTCH, SMALL OIL LEAKS REPAIRED, AND AN A/C RETROFIT IN 2004 AT A COST OF $8500. A REBUILT ALTERNATOR WAS INSTALLED IN 2005. TIRES AND BRAKES BOTH HAVE CONSIDERABLE LIFE LEFT ON THEM. ALL BOOKS, TOOLS AND CAR COVER ARE INCLUDED. THID MONDIAL IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND NEEDS NOTHING BUT A NEW HOME! PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGE ALL PRESALE INSPECTIONS."

Looks nice, for $8500 it should be like a meat locker inside!

Looks like a nice car....what does "most recently" mean for the major service, followed by A/C in 2004. If the last major was indeed in 2004, its Over-due just due to time not miles.

Mid-30's for a car with 43K miles sounds about right.

The ones selling lower all need something, or have a story, or a distressed seller IMO.

This is a very beautiful car. Last year, I saw some in this condition going for 50 Grand. It seems reasonably priced for this sluggish economy.

Seems like one of the few that are priced correctly to reflect real current pricing. I spoke with them about it, the major service was indeed at 35000 miles, in 2004. Belts, etc. etc. and also included clutch. It's a nice looking car in the pictures, not too far away from me, and I am looking, but . . . black is a deal killer for me. I'm ok with many/most "non-red" colors, but I'm done with black cars, too difficult to keep looking nice.

Also, "...just traded in on a 456..." - that was back in October. Don't wanna be pedantic with semantics here, but that was three months ago. Is 90 days a short enough time to qualify 'just' as an acceptable adverb to describe a period of time for the acquisition/trade of a Ferrari...?

I believe picture 1 is an early Mondial T dashboard (1989/90). I'm pretty sure later Mondial Ts had the knee bolsters from the factory.

    Best regards,

I believe that you are correct.

'89 No knee bolsters, no seatbelts coming from the mid of the back seats over the driver/passenger shoulder either.

Testarossa's after 86 in the US had the bolsters and auto (mice) seatbelts, too.

If you're not doing anything this weekend... maybe swing by for a look? I mean, if you're in the area... :)

Those are the parcel shelves that were added when the glovebox was deleted ;)

I PMed with the previous owner and received a good overview. Still, I wish it weren't so far away.

Yes, Vegas; yes, you were there. :)

The farther away it is, the better the drive home will be. :)

Pic 1 is not normal for 1990+ years. as that is a pre '90 or first year car: look at the door sills, where the seat mice runners are missing.

Pic 2 [looks like my Mondial T]: looks, perhaps normal for a euro [guessing] coup as there is a glove box there, and bolster at the bottom. ALso, that is a '90 plus car in that the seat mice runners are present on the door sills.

The only funny thing on Pic 2 is why, the photographer covered the pedals with the mat....hmmm

LOL. Some did come with just 2 pedals vice 3.
It looks just like our '92 t interior except for the wrinkles in the leather and carpet. Glue failure?

I was just looking at the ebay pics and noticed that it has the seat belt mice up front but those bus like inertial lap belts in the rear. Interesting. I had assumed that the automatic seat belts were added along with the 3-pointers in the rear.

Holy ****. That's MY car (or at least it was). I traded it on a blue 456GT they had (but not with those gawd awful wheels on it). Owned from I think June 2003 until October 2008.

Happy to share whatever info someone wants to know on this car.

Nope, I bought the black T convertible with full plans to repaint it (verde silverstone). Never got around to doing it.

It has a little story to it - my (now) ex-wife during our divorce took a 20 pound weight to one of the headlights and the hood. Was quickly and properly repaired, but I'll never forget it. I think I have the pictures some where. This was in 2006. *****.

    Yeah, a woman scorned...

Most of these cars have a story or two. As survivors it just makes them all the more interesting. ;)
