I'm looking for a little advice before I start taking things apart. I hear a vacuum noise (from the interior) in my 84 308 GTSi that disappears as soon as I press the brake pedal, likewise it returns as soon as I release the pedal. This dosen't seem like a normal noise but everything appears to operate fine. Could this be a normal noise from the vacuum boost or should I start investigating? I haven't had the car for but a month and didn't notice the noise at first, it seems very obvious now. I've only found a couple of decent days since I got the car but have managed to put 100 miles or so on it. I really, really like it! I'm working on getting smart enough to add a photo....we'll see.

Does it disappear when you let off of the accelerator without braking?

I played around a little with it while just running in neutral, each time I press the brake pedal it goes away. It dosen't change any with the accelerator?
