Whoever did this to this car needs to be tried in supreme court under 35 counts of felony and sentenced to lifetime of hard labor at Walmart.
There has to a point in time when you are working on a project that you have to step back and see if its going the right way. Obviously this was not.

    I rest my case.
    Next witness? :)

Why so much hate? This is a time capsule from the day when Ferraris were just old cars and after donoring mechanicals they weren't even cars any more. I still think it is a perfect museum piece from the times that are never coming back. Every single racing berlinetta that looked the same has already been restored to perfection.

    Best wishes, Kare

if you can pick that mess for around 15k$ and get it in running condition without any cosmetic work it would really be fun to use at Ferrariclub events. you will have the most attention for little money.
this car is a work of art in its own way. not easy to do EVERYTHING wrong!

This is the perfect car for FCA events, you would offend virtually everyone. Probably not a serious candidate for Preservation Award, but it would be a fearsome track car. I think that the GTO's and SWB's would give it a very wide berth.

Sometimes, things are rare for a good reason. What a sad end(?) for this one.

How did it end up in a middle school Bodyshop class? I didn't even know they had Bodyshop in middle school.

$29000 boot/trunk lid and pair of dodgy taillights not much else left of the poor old thing.
Could agree with Kare though....if someone were to set up a museum of what NOT to do to a classic, this could be a star exhibit.

    Ditto.

If you ask me, though, one day when 250 GTEs are worth money, someone is going to fix up this car and put it back in touch with a Ferrari motor and parts. At the current price levels, it is not worth the pain, but if you add a zero to the current prices of perfect 250 GTEs, this one would be a definite resto candidate.

Exactly! There was someone, years ago, that realized this was a cool enough car to re-engine when the V-8 blew and it was probably only worth the scrap metal price of the time. The 80's side scoops need to go, but overall it should be appriciated for what it is.

It needs to race. It represents what happened in the racing world, the V12's were tossed and replaced with V8's and checkered ***s, that is part of history.

Agree. And if the body is too much to stomach, I can assure you there are plenty of GTE carcasses out there to be had cheap, courtesy of the replica industry. Weld on the replacement panels (no one will care about your panel gaps), paint it flat black, strip the interior, rebuild the motor w/ go-fast stuff and track it. You'll have a legitimate Ferrari track car w/ Ferrari chassis, body and suspension. It would remind me of the 330GT that came to the FCA National in 2006 w/ the racing stripes and had just completed the Carrera Panamericana tribute run. I think that car had Ferrari drivetrain, but you could tell the owner drove the crap out of that car and loved it.

At least this car gets recognizable... it's getting famous.
Maybe that helps with the price in the future...
