Thank the rules makers. Section 84, subsection 66, paragraph 329 of the technical regulations: "All aerodynamic components (components affecting the aerodynamics) shall be designed in such a way to achieve sufficient (enough) ugliness to make a blind man's eyes bleed. Violation of this paragraph of the subsection of the section shall result in disqualification, banishment, expulsion, exclusion and our acting like we don't know you in the garage area."
another teaser pic of the W10. The SUV (Mercedes) was caught with this livery on the 6th of February #switchtoEQ. hmmmmm. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Haas becomes the first to reveal a 2019 car with a sinister looking livery! Haas livery is nice; just need to sort some gold rims!! Funny the fact that the FIA tried to sort the complexity of the aero and obviously concentrated on the front wing, but everywhere else has just sprouted winglets etc....like somebody poured a bucket of water over Gizmo!! Those rims are clever though; be interesting to see a cross section and what other teams do.
Just an FYI guys. The HAAS VF-19 during the LIVE presentation is the VF-18 car with new livery and new front wing. The HAAS VF-19 studio (black background) pics is the "real" car. just found this out.
Am I the only one who feels this dubious Haas "sponsor" is the reincarnation of Jean Pierre Van Rossem? F1 has seen more than its share of conmen over the years and my alarm is ringing full on red alert on this guy...I would hate to see Haas hurt by such a crook...
I thought just the same ! This bearded fellow fronting Rich Energy, is he not the same guy who wanted to buy Force India, but was turned down by the administrator? I think this chap wanted to sue Lawrence Stroll later, for some "irregularities" durng the purchase. I remember reading that upon investigation, the administrator couldn't find any money behind that newly registered company "Rich Energy". If in doubt, get out !!!
Is this not reminscent of Prince Malik(Nigerian) in 1999 with the Arrows team trying to promote the energy drink T-minus???
This is the logo for Whyte bikes..........look familiar???? Going to be an interesting season at the HAAS F1 camp. Image Unavailable, Please Login
There was an amazing article about all the F1 fake sponsor conmen, I thought the worst one was the one that told the "Lotus team" in recent years (just before Renault bough it) "the money is coming soon"... for several years...but no, the worst one was one Gerard Larrousse ended up stuck with in his own team, a German, Rainer Walldorf, who died in a shootout with police! http://www.grandprix.com/constructors/larrousse.html I do hope Haas will be ok in this case and have a great season...
https://sports.vice.com/en_ca/article/gvawv7/the-mysterious-nigerian-prince-who-scammed-his-way-into-owning-an-f1-team never knew... Maybe that was before emails were popular and it wasn't wide spread knowledge to not trust the Nigerian Prince needing to get rid of his money.
Yeah, amazing how these sorts of things aren't vetted out a bit more. Remembering back to the formation of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team back in the early 90s. The ownership which included Tony Esposito brought in a guy who passing himself of as some sort of prince (can't remember but think it was England). The team was touting this self-described prince as the principle investor in the team but then, as it turned out, the guy was a well known conman and had the Lightning done their due diligence, they would have found this all out before they trotted the guy out in front of the media, ha! Any time someone introduces themselves as some sort of royalty to me now, my usual reply is "Congratulations, I'm the Fresh Prince of Belair!" which usually is received by confused looks but ends the conversation. More on the W10 livery. This is Autosports rendition of what the W10 might look like. Toto sporting or "foreshadowing" the up-and-coming livery??? (sidenote: from a distance, this "camo" livery reminds of the "leopard print" camo on the Messerschmitt BF-109 or 262) Maybe the Merc's are copying what RedBull did last year with their intro of the RB14??? I actually like that matte finish look on F1 cars and production cars if it's done right. Some production cars have a glossy paint with matte stripes or vice versa. Looks cool if done right.
I was hoping it would, but I'm disappointed. Black car, some gold lettering and a few stripes of gold, but more silver lettering than gold, and the signature JPS gold pinstriping is missing entirely. Silver and gold lettering on a black car does not equal JPS.
I prefer a proper design/color scheme than a glossy finish. Both would be ideal of course. I don't care much for sponsors, but these are some of the best looking cars IMO, the colors were clearly different from other teams I remember more recently, a lot of the cars looked like they were all from the same team. Boring silvers, blacks, or whites. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
