    It rotates?

    *bing* Please buckle your seatbelt.

If I got one of these, my gal would serve me airline quality food. Wait. She already does.

    This is great.

What a way to make money from worn out 727s. What a scam.

Wonder if counts for mile high club?

Well....there's a guy in the NW.....Minnesota I believe, who actually did one of these. He had a website, but I couldn't find it in the quick search I just did.

The concept would be neat, and I imagine the quality of the airframe of a 727 or similiar aircraft used in such a manner would be, from a wear and tear standpoint, unbelievable.

I'd seriously consider doing it for a summer cottage, if I had money to throw away, as I am a real aircraft enthusiast.

I know of several people who have doen this. Some of their homes look AMAZING! An old 747 costs less than my house and has far more square footage. With the right interior design, it could be simply gorgeous!

Its no scam! (not sure about hte auction itself), but airplane homes are real.

I've seen the 'airplane homes' as well. One feature already built into airliners is the superior insulation designed to withstand frigid temperatures of 10,000 feet +

Any takers on the Lockheed C141 or C5? :D

Unfortunately they chop up the C-141's before selling them.

Maybe it's kind of cool, but for almost $300K, plus land costs, I think I'd want a little more out of a home than a tube.

LOL, nice. Personally I'd like to live in an aircraft hanger Dirk Pitt style if anyone here has read a Clive Cussler novel. I'd have the top offices converted into a small living area and have the whole floor dedicated to a automobile and boat collection! Ah, dreams... *sighs*

that would be one of the coolest houses ever. Anytime you got bored you could go get drunk and play in the cockpit.
