I came across this atrocity in a book from 1983 titled "The most beautiful cars of the world": They stretched a real 400 by 1.9m and it cost back then 250,000 USD. Mega outch!

They also took out the original engine and replaced it with a 500hp twin turbo Chevy V8, which gave the limo a topspeed of 320 km/h. Anybody up for a trial run? The back part of the roof is a removable soft top.

Sorry for the poor quality of the pics, I photographed it off the book.

Alright, let's hear it from you gang!

Gotta love the whitewalls and fake wire wheels!

I didn't have a very high opinion of Mardikian before I saw that picture, and I think my opinion of him has gone even lower.

Wow, isn't that funny? My book is from 83 and yours from not much earlier and we report about it this year? What are the odds?

I had the book forever (since it came out) and recently picked it up again and found this car. Your book must be the same thing, just in English, since mine also has the Arth 308 Spider (that white leather gives me the pimp daddy creeps).

    Why???

Every time I see a limo made out of an exotic (Lambo, Hummer, you name it) I wonder whether they really wasted a real car or just used a Cadillac limo and put some kit car pieces to the front and rear to make it look like.

I have a really hard time understanding what the point of a Ferrari limo is. It is so against everything the marque stands for.

Well, there's absolutely no connection between money and taste. A Ferrari limo is just another bauble for those who want just that.

I'd have to say this white one looks better than the black Mardikian version. More true to the Ferrari look (a difficult concept to grasp!) keeping the original rear roofline/rear windows, wheels and minus the extra chrome and whitewalls.

Any info on the white one? Who stretched it? Ferrari V12? That's a lot of extra weight to be hauling around not to mention the potential number of extra passengers!

Hey, it was the '80s! Anything goes... not that I want to go back to that time though.

Actually I do. Best time of my life. And I was engrossed in modified Ferraris (still am), but the Limo thing is just too odd for me.

I worked on the car for Michael @ Ferrari Service of Costa Mesa (Now Irvine). The owner of several 400's & also the Maser. 4 port limo was killed in a 400 last year in UK. His brothers ended up with the cars, also included Pete Townsen of the Who convertable. Michael and I helped Derik and his brother use the parts cars to fix up the others and sell the odd parts.
As for the limo...It's a "PEACH". It started as a 400i; the 365 spindles allowed the wire wheels....I don't know who allowed white walls...The int. is right out of the eighties.
The cars live in the Long Beach area...
For parts or info on both limos and the 400's call Michael at Ferrari Service of Irvine or www.ferrariservice.com to email him...

I'm sure they handle sooo much better than the Cadilac streches...

I think one of these was on Ebay within the last few years.

I am not sure I am impressed with a 400 limo. Do you guys remember that Ferrari Pinin 4-door show car?
