With the british winter coming I need to invest in a dehumidifier, ventilation, storage system to keep my cars dry through the winter. I have two classic cars - a Ferrari Dino 246GTS and an Austin Healey 3000 and they are stored in a detached brick built double garage. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience of a good system to use. I still want access to the cars as I will still drive them when the weather is good enough I have seen this which looks good - http://www.garage-dri.com/ Does anyone have any practical comments?
Have you thought about a carcoon or similar product? No experience myself....winters here are always too cold to worry about damp. Cheers Simon
Have you considered a bubble??? http://www.calcarcover.com/product.aspx?id=73&cid=8 Do not have any personal experience with them, as my car winters over at the dealer, but, might be worth a look. DM
I have a large double garage in St Albans and I have just bought a dehumidifier called a Ruby Dry from http://www.dry-it-out.com/rubydry.htm I met these people at the NEC last weekend and I liked the Ruby Dry because it is 'new technology' and the dehumidified air leaves the machine around 7C warmer tha the ingoing air. This should help keep the chill off of the garage as well. Price was £249 and it will dehudify a 2-3 car garge. They do sell other models also. Simon No affiliation etc.
