Were the Borrani wheels stock on a California Spider? All the pictures I see of the Ca. Spider, They all have these wheels. If not, what did the original wheels look like (pics. please).Did Borrani Wheels ever come stock or from the factory on any Ferraris? What was there deal. I know on the Daytonas they were put on after.

Can you use the term "stock" in relation to a pre-'69 F?;)

Glad you can appreciate the humor (but I think it has a lot of truth). I'm not a serious F observer, but I can't recall ever seeing a shot of a 250 California Spider that didn't have wire wheels. What would be the alternative? A stamped steel wheel? Were they making the big Mags in '58~'59~'60?

Some early Calis had huge drum brakes and if you just glanced at the car and were not familiar, you might think the silver drums through the spokes were actually mag wheels. (see the photo.)

Also I don't doubt that somewhere somebody has a Cali replica that may have mags on it.

And, yes, Borranis were as stock as you would ever get on 50s and 60s Ferraris. Although I think some really early cars may have had pressed steel wheels and wires would've been an option.
