I love those old 1950s & 60s promotional shots of Ferraris - especially of the coachbuilt and limited series cars.

It would be good to try and pull together some of the best of these from brochures / ads / press kits etc.

I know there are some on the web - of variable quality - but this is my personal favourite. I think this was a Pininfarina shot rather than Ferrari, and came out of the final instalment of the 1960s 'Style Auto' Ferrari trilogy (an original copy of #8, rather than the more recent compilation reprint).

Wonderful picture, and so typical of the period.

    Anyone have any others...? John

She's an architect, see? Yeah, that's the ticket! And she's in charge! And she just drove out to the building site in her Ferrari 400 Superfast III to give a few orders, yeah, that's the image we're looking for! (From Automobile Year #10, 1962-63)

A moment later, "Fifi" is gone and Madame has jumped onto the fence. "Hey Mister, your karma ran over my dogma"!! And everything has taken on a yellow hue.

The above vehicle is a 275 GTS. That shoot took place at Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, CT. I believe pictorial was in Vogue, not Vanity Fair.

Barchetta ... you are correct. I was in a hurry to post the pic, and didn't look at my notes closely. Did you join FerrariChat just to respond to my post? Welcome! (or are you a late re-joiner, after the change-over?)

Thank you for the welcome Superbimmer. I was a member of the old board. However, I did not contribute frequently. I plan to contribute more going forward, especially in the vintage section. I love the cars in your stable! The Queen and the 3.0CSi are some of my absolute favorites. Best Regards.

Thought you guys might enjoy the ad from the Dutch Ferrari Importer (back then!) in a Dutch magazine of 1954!
