    Is there an F348? What does the "F" mean? Is it a challange car?

    I thought it was something like an F1 , ................or ...I don't know what I was thinking .

    Ford Thunderbird would then be "FTBird"

    well, there is no F348, there is only a F355 (the early ones to about 98), then they were called 355s again, especially those F1 cars. It would sound dumb is you call it:
    F355F1

    I also believe it was done to symbolize the F1 heritage. F399 chassis etc.
