"Replacement fee." But yes, a donation .

Hey, at least it's supporting our law enforcement officers...I'd rather have it go to that than some crook selling on eBay.

My locksmith pounds a small brass ball bearing into the head of a phillips, then when time to remove drill out the center.

What is the deal with these 11-99 license plates? I see them on really high end cars and I'm curious if this is their way of buying off CHP officers?

No. There was a thread about this a few months back. Its just a reminder to those officers that pull you over that you support them. But if you do something really dumb its not going to help much...

Soft, but not as soft as lead... come to think of it though, he might have used lead shot.

In other words, "yes." Or at least, that's the idea.

It's interesting that in return for a donation to the "good cause," one receives a license plate frame and a card to carry around in one's wallet. Why not a wall plaque, or a brick at the local CHP station?

Joined yesterday... and you do get a wall plaque, and a leather jacked, and baseball cap and coffee mug. Best of all, you get a scholarship in your name for a CHP's kid that might not otherwise get to go to college.

And you get a license plate frame to put on your car to show to all your exotic car buddies that you support the cause with them.

We have the 100 Club here.....assists fallen officer's families, and we lose them pretty frequently, sadly....

Thankfully, it's a window sticker..........I never have lost one.

5k is for bronze but it is 2500 to add a spouse. I opted for the 10k silver family membership. 25k gets you a gold membership.

If you (or anyone else) wants I can forward the brochure and application.

I got in with the Annual $500 right before they changed, then I believe I only had to pay $800 more if I wanted to become a lifetime member. It was a nice break I remember.

Not too many years ago when I first inquired it was $1800.00, but I couldn't afford it then.
