Not going to get very far in funding those new ventures by selling the, um, not real one.

The old saying, "if you have to ask, you can't afford it," applies to me. So, I have to ask, what's this thing gonna go for??

0854 is ex-Jarold Evans, ex-David Livingston. We (Symbolic Motors) bought it from Hajime Tanaka (of TI Circuit Aida fame in Japan), back in the mid-1990s. We resold it it to Paul Vestey, who part-exchanged 0738TR and an Ecurie Ecosse longnose D-Type. It eventually ended up with Bruce McCaw, who then resold it to Jim Glickenhaus.

My recollection was that he originally opined and intended his collection to be in the family even after his passing.

He, like I, am fully entitled to change opinion without caring what anyone thinks. So I personally care very little what he decides to do. None of my business.

Again, just saying what I recalled being said many years ago.

And I've met him a handful of times including spending 90 minutes with him in his offices in Manhattan back when his father was still alive.

Sure, I could be wrong, because it was a long time ago.

I remember him stating the same, but life's uncertainties usually make absolute statements unlikely to become truths. Regardless of who you are. People's priorities change...

I remember saving it and likely Jim’s life from potentially catastrophic tragedy at Pebble Beach.
