    308 F106 A E * 00767 Engine - $8500 with local pickup Tenafly NJ.

    this engine left the factory in a 1978 308 GTS - carbed 2v engine.

    Used for a few years in my 308 GT4 and removed to install the original Gt4 engine. My Gt4 is now sold and I'm now selling this engine.The engine was running great when pulled and only pulled to reinstall the original motor in my Gt4.

    I did the belts two winters ago. It has Hill engineering tensioners. It has a Forza waterpump that I installed (almost $800) that is much sturdier and seems even after a decade they don't fail or need rebuilding.

    I've set it up with Electromotive electronic ignition. ie crank fired. The complete system can be included for an extra $500 (cost over $2k as I recall). Great system.

    Otherwise, totally reversible to dizzies.

    Included in $8500:

    complete engine and carbs as pictured with Starter and alternator.
    front and rear headers in VGC (one has the insulation still intact)
    a/c pump and mounts.
    3 heatshields
    1 distributor, 3 distributor caps, small boxs of extra

    The car is located at Auto Elite in NJ which would be a good place to transplant the engine if you need. Great engine to revive a 2v 308 without going the full blown rebuild.

    This is some history on where this engine came from:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/323318-my-first-ferrari.html

    Casey, the guy I bought it from confirmed. See further photos below showing he had the heads off (good news in itself)

    Exhaust valves 5-8
    Valve stem seals
    Clear coolant passages of crud
    Head and cam cover gaskets
    Cam seals
    Hill tensioner bearings
    No bottom end

    +++

    Expect to require some fasteners or fittings although I will go through with Vinny to make sure most are there.

    ++

    At $8500 this is asking less than the sum of its parts and was a very reliablle and well running engine while in my Gt4.

    Thanks!

    Hi Don

    Ofcourse it could although I dont have any experience doing so. Looks like there are some pallet/box combinations that can be purchased for a few hundred.

    And I have no idea of what it would cost to ship it say to Florida (again, no personal experience in shipping items of this size. there are some online websites that promise quotes but I think are just generating leads.

    Don, I just used YRC Freight for a heavy item, and they were excellent. It was 400lbs+ and cost about $500 to ship from CT to Illinois.

    If Guy has the dimensions, weight (general) and specifics (ie. full engine), then use this info and they should be able to generate a quote, pick up time and etc.

    I bet the shop in NJ could at least get it palletized and shrink wrapped for prep to be picked up.

    This is a LOT of engine for cheap. Wish I had the coin myself

    Without asking him I think if I get it packed and palleted Vinny would be flexible - few weeks no problem, a month or two possibly also ok.

    Compression test figures:

    Front bank facing passengers l to r: 210 - 200 - 200 - 185

    Rear bank facing rear trunk l to r: 180 - 175 - 180 - 180"
