Is thereca bleeding procedure fir the cooling system or is it self bleeding? Temp used to track rock solid on 210 - right in the middle all the time. Idle or driving. Changed the coolant with the same mixture - coolant, water and Red line water wetter. I've swapped out before and no issue. Now its running at 220-225 while drivig with good airflow and jumps to about 250 at idle. I have a 250 mile drive tomorrow and dont want any issues.
Peter, The manual indicates that the car should not be operated above 115 degrees C, which I believe is 239 F. I have pasted in the discussion from the manual about operating temperature. ******************************************************************************************************* The engine cooling system uses a pressurised circuit (1.4 kg/cm psi) which circulates an antifreeze mixture. The maximum allowable temperature is 115°C. Reduce engine speed immediately if the temperature gauge needle goes above 115°C. If the temperature does not drop, have the system checked at the nearest centre of the FERRARI SERVICE Circulation of the coolant is controlled by a centrifugal pump driven by the crankshaft, by means of a belt. The thermostat unit is fitted with a bleeder screw to release the air from the cooling circuit during refilling or during circulation problems. Water radiator Located in the front of the vehicle, it uses two electric fans for cooling. The fans activate according to the engine operating conditions and are controlled by the engine (on the right-hand bank) and air conditioning ECU, which receives the coolant temperature signal from the NTC sensor, located on the left-hand water outlet manifold.
Thanks guys. I'll give this a try in the morning before my drive. Coolant is full in the filler neck however I did not bleed the system. I did not do it the last 2 times I changed the coolant and there was no issue so I made the erronious assumption it was self bleeding. I've probably driven the car 40 miles since the coolant change.
In F599 oil and water pumps are in one part and they are driven by a separated chain from crankshaft. Sorry, I didn’t saw that You are talking about Scaglietti. Wysłane z iPhone za pomocą FerrariChat
Bleeding seems to have been no help. Had someone back in to me over the weekend at an event. No major damage but I'm having it checked out on Tuesday. The plastics bumper cover needs to be adjusted and not the car is running even hotter by 10 - 20 degrees. I need to see if the fans are working properly. The bump into my car may have set something lose.
Well, its not over heating or leaking, just running hotter. My suspicion is the one of the fans isn't coming on. Its in the shop today to have them look at the front bumper. They are going to look into the cooling issue as well.
