So I saw what looked like an old Modena GT build of the 250GT California SWB. Approached the guy who very snobbily said its the read deal. A real 250 GT California. Hate to say it, but I have my doubts. Didn't think the real ones had the "A" frame door windows. Or dual rearview fender mirrors

Any thoughts? Is this thing real or is this guy sadly pawning off a beautiful replica as a real 250GT?

Either way, great sight to see today. Image Unavailable, Please Login

There is not a single thing related to a Ferrari 250 GT or a Cal Spyder in your pic. Need I say more?

Obviously a fake, and had to be different enough from the original so Ferrari would not file lawsuit on whomever made that kit... here's a original:

I personally do not like most kit cars (certain recreations are okay.)
If kit cars are your thing, the least you can do is own up to it when asked about the provenance. When you try to pass it off, that's when you go from frugal enthusiast to charlatan posuer.

Assuming he indeed was 'snobby' (two sides to every story), I would say, no, it was not a great sight to see today. Actually I'm embarrassed for him.
