On friday morning we wisely decided to take the day off to go for a weekend driving the black monster where it belongs - the Alps! We set off from S. Gallen towards Davos; after a nasty first hour with trucks, vans and slow cars (plus a white van overtaking in a blind curve, which nearly destroyed our car) we finally got to the wonderful Fluelapass road - up to 2309m. Apart from very few slow cars, we were about to spend the weekend with literally thousands of bikers - ranging from relaxed Harley chopper riders and middle-aged BMW riders to committed MV Agusta, Ducati, Kawa Ninja and Yamaha R1, Suzuki GSX and Honda CBR road-racers. Sorry to say, NO Ferraris, NO Lambos, NO Porsches. Come on guys, where were you??? :)

And for the first time I had a car that could actually keep up with all bike riders, both in the curves and in (short) straights. Actually most of the time I was faster than most bikes climbing up the mountains!

After Fluelapass we went past Zernez to the Ofenpass (2100m), then into Italy on to the Palade Pass. After a quiet saturday, on Sunday we drove back from the Tonale Pass (WONDERFUL road), to the Aprica Pass (nice but too narrow and very dangerous - saw a nasty bike accident involving a Ducati and a car) finally back into Switzerland for the fantastic Bernina Pass and Julierpass.

Here are some pictures of our tour - and Wolfgang, we HAVE to repeat this with FChatters sometime, they are the most fabulous roads.

Thats wonderful Andrea. I`m sure you enjoyed the trip very much.
Anja & I we know the roads very well you drove. We have been there years ago with the Alfa Romeo 2.0 Fastback Spider.
YES!!!! We should do this trip together again with the F cars :)
