All, My local shop is booking two weeks out and I really don't want to wait to get the WR1 starter relay installed. I am mechanically proficient when I have instructions and photos but can't find a DIY on this one. Is there one? I would really like to not need to pop start my car everywhere...
Instructions with a picture should come in the package, but try this: Bosch WR-1 Hard Start Relay Fitting Basically, the ignition switch is going to energize the relay, which is going to send current to the starter. So the relay gets wired in the middle of the circuit. Regards, Jerry
Here are a couple of diagrams that might help. Alden Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I bought the WR-1 back when it cost $10 just in case. Last time I looked it was $25. Recently my local wrench did the work in about 45 minutes while chit chatting. Be wary of the spade connectors. One of mine was not exactly sized and needed a 'needle nose' plyers job. And do not be concerned about the diagram. The kit comes with a connector and you only need to make two or three rather obvious connections yourself.
