Track Daze is there the 7th-9th, I was planning to go for the Saturday or Sunday with my 355. Weekdays are pretty much a no-go for me as well.
I will be there. It was a blast last year. We enjoyed seeing old friends (some young ones too) and making new ones we stayed in touch with all year. I highly recommend this event. You will go home a better driver no matter what your current abilities are. Something that's beneficial for anything you may encounter in your everyday commutes.
You know I will be there. There are always a LOT of beautiful cars for this event. Monday night dinner (incl. in the price) is not to be missed. I highly encourage anyone who has ever thought about tracking their car to attend this event. The format is set up to be very safe- I have been doing this over a dozen years and have only seen one minor car-to-car contact. If you drive within your limits, you will be fine. Find out what your Ferrari can really do!
I hope that noble just passed that x5, although it is still pretty darn close at that point around oak tree...haha
When Top Gear UK visited the track a couple of years ago, some gentlemen from the BMW Performance Driving school attended the morning session. One of them was driving a X5-M and was passing and out-braking quite a few "performance" oriented cars...it was quite comical. Quite a number of cars were embarrassed as that sport ute approached T1.
The X in the picture was our old 315hp 4.4. Stock suspension and brakes, 145k miles. I believe this picture was taken in the lower Esses right before the wave by from the Noble. I sold it end of last year and just recently aquired a X5M.
Just a reminder to get your registrations in if you are attending. Still room for everyone. You can find the driver registration and car inspection forms at Home Page. Hope to see you there!
Sure wish Margaret and I could make it but the best tracker in our family (Morgan) just had a baby boy in Fort Lauderdale and so we have to be there - I have never been to VIR and would really like to make it next year with the whole family and cars! (PS) Our new son inlaw is a gear head - yea - Morgan says she picked him so he could be her track support
Got to take a student out in his car yesterday to show him the ropes. What a machine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sean and I had a great time and thanks for allowing him to opportunity to experience VIR from behind the wheel. Saw old friends and made new ones. We should do this once a month, lol.
