Time for my BMW to find a new home. SW FL is not exactly engaging when it comes to driving, so let's find her a new owner. Here are the facts: 91,000 miles Oxford Green Metallic Dark Grey interior. one of only 187 Oxford Green cars produced that year. 3.2L 240 HP motor, that has not been modified in any way. Most, but not all of the tools are still with the car. I do have the tire pump, which works fine. I also have a car cover. Window sticker, and all manuals, including the radio code card. CD/Cassette/AM/FM Radio (Harman Kardon) with 6 CD changer in trunk. Top is in excellent condition, raises and lowers as it should. Plastic is clear. I'll post a photo later today. Clutch and gearbox are good as well. No grinding of the gears, and clutch seems to have lots of life left on it. Interior. The driver's bolster shows typical wear. I think a good interior guy could put it right in an hour or two. The center console (storage bin and cup holders) is not stock, it's some kind of add on that the prior owner installed. Heated seats and outside rear view mirrors. Wheels. Have been refurbished to good, but not what I would call concours condition. Tires. Khumo with plenty of tread left. Rears were replaced last year, fronts were on the car when I bought it, but were brand new at the time. Battery is less than 1 year old. A/C blows very cold, works great. So, what's wrong with the car? There are two lights out on the dash, behind the clock and the amp gauge. They are accessed from behind the radio, which can be removed, but has to be done carefully as some of the screws have seen better days. Does not suffer from some of the more common M Roadster maladies. Doesn't run hot, doesn't have a balky rear differential. And hasn't had a dozen owners. Has been well maintained and had a couple of tasteful modifications made. Which some might call wear and tear maintenance. All of the brake pads have been replaced within the last 3000 miles, front rotors were replaced with cross drilled rotors. Suspension has been upgraded with height adjustable coil overs, and has been lowered about 3/4". It can be raised back to original drive height with minimal effort. (Yes, I do still have the special wrench, included with the car) Carfax indicates regular maintenance by BMW, and no accidents. I can confirm that the car drives great, is very strong, and has no mechanical issues. Options? None. couldn't get many anyway. This car is a 2000, which means it has the electronic stability control that these cars desperately need. They can otherwise be very tail happy. Paint is very good, but does have some stone chips that I guess are expected in a 15 year old car that sits low to the ground. I can load this on a truck for you and ship it anywhere in the US. Price? A VERY reasonable $12,500. Shipping is not included. Car can be seen locally in Punta Gorda, FL near Fort Myers, and not too far from Tampa. Email me, or contact me here for more info. These are truly great cars. I had one for over 10 years and LOVED driving it. They feel a little twitchy at first but once you get used to them they are fast and super fun. Also, I like this motor over the later motor. It has more torque so it is just easy to drive. Good luck with the sale.
Still is. It's a blast to drive, and swapping out the suspension, and lowering the car a little took most of the twitch out of it. The Stability control system pretty much took care of the rest. Thanks. D
Car has a clean carfax. I am the second owner from new. No accidents, and most of the service history is on this. D Image Unavailable, Please Login
As a "car guy" I hate F/S ad's like this because I absolutely love the Z3 M Roadster and a basically pristine example like this one at that asking price is like finding Gold in a Coal mine. Heavy is the cloud of my '04 525i when such great deals like this cross my path. Even trade??? Sorry I digress.
Had one of these 240hp cars from new and it was a blast! Who's complaining about the twitchiness? That was half the fun!
here you go. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I saw this car when Dave first got it and was impressed. I saw it as Dave fixed the few things mentioned here and got it cleaned up and continued to be impressed. This will serve its next owner well and you couldn't be buying from a better guy.
Seconded! Dave, does this mean you're going from Pickle to something like a Mercedes...or a golf cart?
Negative on the golf cart, although they sure as hell are plentiful down here. They get some kind of old guy exemption from traffic laws as long as you stay off the highway. Maybe a mercedes. time will tell.
A careful inventory reveals that I have all the keys. Two Fobs with keys, a spare key and the emergency key as well. D
OK!! Car appears to be SOLD. Fchatter sending $$ today, should be here tomorrow. Good deal for all, I think, pending PPI. D
OK, I still can't believe the 3 of us all had these things. Fun cars. Traction control? we don't need no stinkin' traction control. Fast sale Dave. Now wife happy. M3 or 330ZHP cab calling you.
My Imola Red 1999 Z3 M Roadster has over 130k miles. Dave's has plenty of life left if it's anything like mine...
Passed the PPI, buyer picked it up this morning and headed back to the other side of FL. Now, time to go find something new!! D
