Did you do IMS, RMS? What other major maintenance items? I have a black '99 996 with 57k miles. It's been a great car. Folks don't realize how much car you can get for this kind of money. Gotta be one of the best bang for the Bucks out there.
I don't have full records from the previous owner, but the major one is: Clutch, flywheel and throw out bearing in 2011. Since I've had it: Oil change at 128,500 miles All exterior bulbs, wipers cabin filter and K&N air filter replaced in January 2014 The 1999-2001 cars have dual row IMS bearings. They are not as susceptible to failure as the 2002+ single row IMS bearings. I assume the IMS bearing and rear main seal were both replaced with the clutch since it's they are common maintenance items with the service. But if not, it's not a big deal on the early cars. These cars are a blast to drive. This is my second C2 with coilovers and C2 with coilovers have the best turn-in of any car I've ever driven. Combined with the 911's versatility, they make for a great daily fun car. Only reason I'm selling the 996C2 is I picked up a 996TT on a whim. I was planning on keeping the C2 well beyond 200k miles.
My wife's car is a 2003 996 Speed Yellow Tip which is a hard combo to find. 2nd owner and racked up about 80,000 miles with zero issues. We did change the IMS bearing few months back and I am glad we did otherwise it could have costed us an engine.
