If you can't trust the factory-owned FSF, who can you trust? I suspect the added purchase cost you will probably be tagged with implies a warranty of some sort. Rather than having the car inspected by a 3rd party, why not inquire about how they plan to stand behind the car?

I have heard good things about FSF, but 3 people wrote me about not having PPI's done when buying a car there, and getting burned when they complained about problems occuring after buying the car, that should have shown up during FSF's inspection.

FoSF does not do the most extensive PPI, but if you want them to do a VERY thorough job, I can arrange for it. I am very close to their service guys, and can have them do something for you. In addition, if you are buying a car from them, I recommend that they do the PPI for the reason that if they did in fact miss something, you would then have grounds for asking them to pay for repairs, etc.

That was the method I used for my 550, which I bought from them. This was suggested to me by my independant Ferrari mechanic, who is extremely good. I wanted to use him, he suggested to do this. So far there have been no issues that they should cover, but it's a small comfort I guess.

PM me if you need contact info, or want me to call, etc.

You know I'm not much of an advocate of F of Sf for PPI. I had my 355 in there Dec 22 for a PPI and it is going back on Monday for repairs that they missed and did not complete the first time. Luckily my own independant Ferrari specialist found this...however, my ability to go back to the the person whom I purchased the car from and ask for an offset in price is now gone.

If anyone wants more specific info on what was missed, what was repaired/not repaired can e-mail me.

I will not pass anymore judgement on F of SF until next week since I am giving them an opportunity to complete what should have been done the first time.

My car is being picked Monday...I will keep all of you posted.

No Dan...the clutch pinion bearing on my clutch is howling. hence why it's back to F of SF.

If you guys were driving closer to F of SF I probably would have gone. :(
