Will some one please shoot her. ****ing crybaby, she makes women in the military look bad.

She says she went down praying during the ambush, obviously the military was not for her. Damned weakening of the process to let physically/mentally inferior troops in.

Stand, fight. The basic principle of bootcamp. Shoot her Gunney too while you are at it.

    Damned traitors.

Supply Clerks are not soldiers....that's the difference between the US Army and the US Marine Corps. EVERY Marine, regardless of duty or station, is a Rifleman/Warrior first and foremost. I don't believe the Army indoctrinates and trains their people that way.

Second, Jessica is finally owning up to the fact that the DoD and the Media have been using her as a marketing tool for their own benefits - one used her to 'market' an unpopular war, another used her to market a 'product', be it a movie or book they're producing. Either way, it takes some guts to bite the hand that fed you millions and gave you medals to stand up and say everyone's lying about her record. There's some genuine honesty in what she's saying, which is a refreshing change in the "Jessica Lynch Story"....

A PURPLE HEART? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Oh, poor me, media spin takes over some BULLSH!T 'survival' story where nothing actually happened to me except my own involvement in a CAR CRASH, and now I'm America's Hero!

This must leave a *really* sour taste in the mouth of those who have served, those who are serving, and those who are associated (family, etc.) of whose who died while serving.

It's one thing to say you'd never be so afraid you couldn't function, and another to do it. When you've been there, you've got the right to talk. If you haven't been there it's all just bull. Whatever you think about yourself, you don't know what you'll do, unless you have to face it. Anyone who wants to put themselves in a place where they find out what their made of is probably insane.

I'd take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror, before I'd open my mouth and make those sort of statements. You never know if you're able to do the job or not. Most can't. Fact: in WW2, only 5-10% of the infantry men actually shot at the enemy most shot at nothing. Remember that when you think youre so good.

she joined the ****ing ARMY, not the Salvation ARMY
    Battle is expected.

BTW guys don't drag me into this, I did not enlist in the same military structure as she did. I don't want to go into a lengthy thread to explain who I am, where I have been and what schools I attended.

Anything less than, makes for an absolutely meaningless life.

Military commanders have always said, "its easy to get men to go into battle, but once they have been its much harder to get them to go back"

"Her gun jammed" How does a M16 jam without firing a shot?

    A true Pvt Benjamin

I have nothing against women in the Military, my younger sister is in the Air Force as a Russian linguistics specialist but most need to be kept far away from the action as possible as I can see her cowering in the same situation

Can't the gun jam immediately? If it jams right away I would expect a lot of god fearing people to start praying, because death is probably near.

    Testshoot,
Why don't you share with us who you are, since you seem to think you're all that. Maybe there should only be people like Rambo in the military. But if that was the case, we'd only need the one guy.

How do you put a person on block? Onto's crap that it continues to spew is pointless. Onto seems like one of these people that tries to pretend they're clever by talking cryptic, but only impresses other really stupid people.

I've never seen an M16 jam on the first round chambered. If all she had to do was turn the safety off, even more unlikely and then the claim could be she fired only one shot off. I really don't think the attempt was made. As far as my experience with M16's, I never fired them in combat but had one of my own I used every quarter and have cleaned and tested several hundred as a part of a semi-annual detail at my old unit. She probably has more experience than I do, so again, it comes down to I don't think the attempt was made nor was she in any condition to do so.

    Amen to that!

PS: question to those in the army. Is it common M-16 carry practice to have a chambered round in the gun while in hostile territory? I know it is with SA pistols. DAO of course have no safety at all. ( and of course you always adapt to the exact situation...)

I too have a hard time beliving the gun 'jamed'. Maybe was damaged in the crash though.

    Best!
    Ben.

Thank you for the clarification, mais ...

    diet - modern religion

lovely gastronomical delights + lovely people -> conviviality.
fear is for watjes. one deserves to indulge each day of waking day.

Christianity - fearing temptations [ie. oneself] is the principal human occupation

Seneca - if you wish to fear nothing consider that everything is to be feared

Shakespeare - best safety lies in fear

Hesse - god kontains the devil too
