    Is $750,000 a bit much for a 288 GTO? I would much rather have an F50.

    Yes it is a bit much... about $400,000 too much.

    DuPontRegistry, ****ing bastards over there. Thanks for the heads up guys, because its a nice car, but if I would have spent that much money, I would rather have an F50. Im going to have a talk with that guy.

    I think this one has been discussed before. The seller is a dreamer.

    There are several good GTOs available for sale around the world at their usual running rate of about 300k US.

    I was speaking with Ferrari of Ontario about the difficulty in ordering certain parts the other day and they said that they have had a 288 GTO in service for over two months because they are having a hard time getting parts.

    It is probally my favourite Ferrari but when I hear that it makes me wonder even if I could afford one would I buy one?

    Parts are around, but you a) can only get them if you show them the title of your GTO and b) they're extremely expensive.

    If you just dig the car, an alternate route would be to get e.g. Norwood to modify a 308 into a GTO with a 90 degree turned engine, 4 inches stretched, the whole nine yars. It would cost probably a third of a real one, look the same, for the most part drive and feel the same (they could put a 348 engine in it with twin turbos) and be serviceable at somewhat reasonable costs.

    If I had the money to buy the real thing, I doubt I could really enjoy it. The risks of something happening to it would kinda spoil the joy. Which is why most GTOs are garage queens. Sad thing.
