Damn this thread has gone wiiiiild!! Randall, I do agree with SOME of the things that you say, but not all. I agree with you that a stewardess isn't a hero because she know how to operate a phone, but I do think that some of the firefigthers are hero's. Not the construction workers, why are they hero's ? Cant see that.. As far as the Hi-jackers. Some people will without doubt see them as hero's, but it's not Ameriacans, and you americans have ro realize, that not all people around the world share the same world perspective as you. The hatred to the US is enourmes down in the middle east, and it's growing everytime Bush attacks a middle-east country. There's not really that much you can do about it, as long as Bushy is President. Let's hope Kelly or Dean wins the election Randall, you really should be carefull what you say in here, there are many patriotic americans, and you CAN'T win. Maranello man, thumbs up. Agree with a lot of what you say.
Interesting attitudes by foreigners. I didn't know Randall had a case to win. You know...I hate foreigners more everyday. They are just so much know-it-alls. Don't bother flaming me if that's your bent. I don't even read responses like that. I guess you may have meant well, but save it. We don't even know who runs your irrelevant country. Sorry...I'm a little angry this morning.
So you are saying that you better than me because you are an american? You know what, YOU SAVE IT. Don't even know you, and Ive done nothing to you.
No, not better. Just tired of people trying to straighten us out over here. Mind Norway....we have the US under control here. Thanks for the advice though.
I haven't tried to straighten anyone out? - I was making a remark to all of Randalls posts and giving Dave a thumbs up. Can't see how you figured it concerned you and getting offenden by it in the process.
Jonas, I mentioned earlier that for most Americans, 9/11 is still a very visceral issue. All of us remember where we were when we heard the news (I was working and my mother-in-law called me to tell me that the US had been attacked.), and the shock of that day has not diminished over time. Thus, if you feel like you kicked an ant bed, well you did. Perhaps the biggest shock for many Americans was the realization that many people around the world hate us and want us dead. Compared to other countries, the typical American is very naive about the rest of the world. Because unilateral hate is not part of the Ameican mindset, we are stunned when we find out that people hate us for simply being Amercians. On the surface, the Muslim countries hate us for our unyielding support for Israel. However, it doesn't take much digging in the historical record to realize that there must be something more to it than this. After all, the Arab street is hardly blameless when it comes to the Palestinian issue. Personally, I believe that most of the hate aimed at the US comes from jealousy and envy. The rest of the world wants what we have and wants it for themsevles. Sure there are some, including many in this country, who say that this hate was cause by past actions of the US around the world. Again, go crack your history books. You'll find that there is no country of the statute of the US that has done more for human rights and freedom than we have. At any rate, if folks like Rudy take a "us versus them" attitude, maybe now you understand. Indeed, perhaps it is time for the US to take a little bit more of a "What's in it for us?" attitude when it comes to foreign policy. After all, the European countries having been doing this for centuries. Take Care, DrTax
Ralph, it is ironic (then, again, maybe not) that the only two members on my ignore list have posted to this thread. Randal obviously has some personal issues that he needs to work out. And this Orthodontist guy is just further proof that not everybody deserves access to the Internet. Dale
I agree, Dale great post. I wish it could be understood and honestly applied, but there are people (increasing daily) that can look at a red painted wall and insist it's blue (and they are not color blind). J
I must agree with the two Texas home folks. Don't just blame Uncle Sam for your economic shortfall. One must look within and see what is to blame. Stop the corruption and educate the people. Democracy is the "only" answer. Real free elections are the only way to bring the "third world" countries out of their hardship. Don't just use the "automatic" U.S., is to blame knee jerk reaction. There are plenty of hot new exotics being delivered everyday to loser countries !!!!
