Yes, this is both a shameless plug AND an educational opportunity for other owners and potential owners. I always try to contribute good pictures, good information, etc. to this board and the "list" so I figured I'd try to make my process of selling my 328 (and soon after I'll be on a quest for an early model 456... need 4 seats now that I'm a family man) as educational as possible for everyone in the market for a Ferrari 328

Ever wonder how much it costs...
    - to repaint a black car in a Ferrari factory approved method?
    - to do a 30k mile service?
    - to do a cam seal replacement at teh same time as a 15k and belts?
    - etc.?

Ever wondered what a dyno chart for a 1987 328GTS looks like?

Here's a teaser of the type of detail you'll find:

Major mechanical and cosmetic expenses since purchase:

And yes, I am so anal I have a full set of scans that you can see the actual reciepts (and I have a lot more that aren't on the site - down to the level of the purchase of the individual cleaning products I have used).

There are high res pics, video, reciepts, carfax, etc. all at my site for my car:

Enjoy and I hope it helps folks looking at 328s even if you're not interested in my car.

Congrats Dave. I'm in your boat. We're actually going to the hospital @ 9pm tonight to be induced b/c my wife hasn't gone in to labor yet.

I've was contemplating selling the 328 and getting either an early 456GT, a Maserati Coupe GT, or a Porsche 991 C4S. Right now, I'm leaning heavily towards the 911 but am also now thinking I'll probably keep the 328 as well. They are such great cars :).

Thanks for the data points - very informative and congrats again.

Dave - That is great info. I will surely do something similar whenever I go to sell my 328 as I think it's important to keep that history with the car for the next owner. Outstanding!

I wrote something up at sometime to fix that map pocket - Would require taking the door apart & replacing the springs in the map pocket.

Here is the info for the map pocket fix :

The insurance company picked up a large (>2/3 of cost) chunk of it becasue the bastard that keyed the car hit three panels on the car and the shop I went to refused to do a "blend" as requested by the insurance company. Insurance company said ok and covered what both I and they thought was fair. :)

I'm glad the couple people I've talked to that have seen teh page have thought it will help other folks looking at buying 328s even if it's not mine that they would want. I like to think that once in a while I actually add something (anything?) to the Ferrari enthusiast community.

Read the full set of work done.

    $5700 is the total for:
    1) Front and read brake rotors ($210x2 front, $235x2 rear)
    2) Front and rear brake pads ($234 front set, $225 rear set)
    3) repaint of all four wheels ($865)
    4) full 15k service
    5) cam seal replacement
    6) belts changed since he was in there anyway for the cam seal (i.e. basically a 30k)

now that's more like it when you look at it in context....

Yep, my 30K was $6,900 - A lot more was done than just the 30k service. It just adds up!
