Not to start a debate, but just to get an idea about the religions we have on the board...
I put other... I forgot the name of my religion. Can anyone help(?) I pray to fast boats, faster cars, and the fastest women I can find.
I was baptized as a Methodist but then when i went into bootcamp I always went to Synagogue because i had always wanted to see what it was like. I ended up really liking it because it was more like a history lesson then all preachy. Maybe it was just that Cantor Feinburg was really nice but i really enjoyed attending those services. Im not saying im Jewish and Im not saying im even Christian. I dont knwo what i am I dont think it really matters what people are. I just think when we die we go to a better place. No hell or anything like that. If god is so forgiving then why would there be a hell. Everyhting tends to happen for a reason it seams like and when we die theres nothing to be afraid of. Embrace life for what its worth and make the most out of your time here. There I kinda started rambling but i have kinda weird beliefs on religion. I had been wanting to do the same thing for awhile on here but i was afraid it might cause some sort of arguments.
Pretty open minded of you. We need more open minded people in the world. I'm a Christian, Jehovah's Witness.
Spaceship is coming guys! Na in all seriousness...Unfortunately Im not really religious. I just believe in being a good human being and letting people believe in whatever they want! Im open minded when it comes to religious beliefs. Every religion has their good qualities! The only thing I dont believe in is that there is one "right" religion and that everyone else is doomed to hell or whatnot...
LMAO, I like to worship between the twin temples as well. Jason, what kind of religous poll is this? No mention of Martinism or a slot to vote for it?
In England Jedi became an official religion. LOL! There is something there when you register to vote, or get your drivers license, or something like that, that you have to answer, and if there are enough marks they recognize it as a religion. I think it was a bunch of collage kids that pulled the prank off. Oh and yes Catholics are Chiristians. Just the same as Lutherans, Baptists, Penacostles, Anglicans, etc. Jordan, "the space ship is coming"? Don't tell me your a Scientologist. HAHAHAAAAA the freekin space ship.
Although I've pretty much shy'd (sp?) away from organized religion, I AM a Christian and believe in the word of God. I was baptised a Moravian (small religious group known for settling in the northeast and big in Winston Salem, NC) and have gone to other churches but just find a lot of people are a bunch of hypocrites. I'm not saying everyone who is active in their chuch is a hypocrite -- by no means. I just find it doesn't fit well with me. And too many churches have too many rules. And these people who are not good people who go to church and think everything is fine are kidding themselves -- God knows you better than you know yourself. I'm a firm believer that if you are a good person in life and treat others with respect that God loves you just as much as someone who goes to church every weekend. My 2 cents.
Very wise of you. The Great Mahatma Gandhi wrote that " all religions are but different paths up the same mountain" The Dalai Lama said more or less " Religion is not that important, being good to your fellow man is more important." I paraphrased the DL but that was the gist of his message
