I looked at a 355 on the weekend which had no spare wheel. Is that normal? I thought it was just the 348's that don't have them.

Yes, it's normal.None of them have a spare, just an emergency can of tyre repair stuff.

Thanks - one less thing to worry about.

I intend to buy the car providing it passes a good inspection. Fingers crossed I'll soon be an owner.

Where are you buying car from and shouldn't your user name change to; "stevesgota355"?

I should change my user name but I don't want to jinx it!

I haven't asked for anyone's view on the car because I know there will be 1001 different opinions about it. I'm getting it checked by Graypaul as the car is in Birmingham and then I'll make up my own mind.

Very exciting times for me, I'm not getting much sleep!

FWIW, there *was* a "spare tire" option available on the 355. I've never seen one, but in the manual (at least on later cars) there is some discussion on how to install and use the (space saver) spare wheel. I'm told that dealers might have some NOS available, if you need it.

I just keep TWO *new* cans of "fix-a-flat", a puncture repair kit, a portable compressor and my auto club card in the car with me. And I also keep the factory can in my closet, as it's long expired and would probably cost me an arm and a leg if I needed to replace it for a concours or something....

    vty,
