"Schlupf" is German for "slip", so I'm guessing it's traction control? That, or someone who's anti-undergarment.

officially ASR stands for "Antriebsschlupfregelung" according to Bosch = Traction Control System TCS in English

"In order to maintain directional stability and prevent the vehicle breaking away, the wheels should neither lock up during braking, nor should they spin when driving off. Bosch TCS prevents the wheels from spinning. It ensures good traction, stability and steerability when driving off or accelerating.

Each wheel is continuously monitored by wheel-speed sensors. TCS evaluates the wheel-speed sensor signals and immediately recognises when a wheel is about to start slipping. In this case TCS is activated and regulates the drive torques of the driven wheels. This electronic wheel-slip control selectively brakes individual wheels and intervenes in the engine management. "

    Turn off at your peril.........

Turning the ASR off does NOT turn off the ABS, by the way. Many of the pro's I've worked with have asked for the ABS to be off on the challenge or N-GT cars.

It's not switchable, but disconnecting a wheel speed sensor does it, but you lose the pump assistance, so the pedal goes hard.

The Aussie/Spain spec N-GT comes with a kit of hoses etc to bypass the ABS unit and use the new twin master cylinders conventionally.

Malcolm/Ferrari UK?....how can I turn off the ABS but retain the pump assistance on a std 360 Challenge car....strictly for race track of course.

I have proved that ABS returns faster laps if used, but some drivers still prefer to have it off for spin recovery or basic abuse purposes.
