With the terrible weather here I havent had my car out in a while. Just in case of a mishap when I start the car, I thought I should get a fire extingisher. I read where the standard dry extinguishers can do harm to things in the engine compartment. Not only do I want to stop a fire but I dont want to damage my car in the process. Please advise.

    thanks,
    Dan

    Look for a halon extinguisher.

Yes I agree, it must be Halon. I know I have posted this before but please alow me to restate. I never go out in the 328 with out my halon Exting. and when I fill the car up I take it out and keep it very close. Take it from someone who has lived "it" nothing scares the crap out of you or makes you more paranoid than a fire.

To be in the Art Car parade, you have to have one on board.

I popped my trunk and showed the Fire Marshall, "Here is my LEFT side one, and over here is my RIGHT side one.......!"

And they are large ones. HTH
