I remove all base because they consume a lot of space. But if you have space is your decision. Otherwise I have all my bases in my storage for future big room :)

I wouldn't call it 'play', I call it 'study and research'.
    :)

Seriously that's how I sometimes check for details and differences. One day I'll be a concours judge and every 355 that doesn't say "Mattel" underneath will get points deducted...

PS: Isn't that Ertl just ugly? I hate that model, but it's the only 275 I got.

I too remove the base on my models, though some demand it because the base is poorly designed.

If you do remove and keep the base, keep track of the screws and support studs. Also keep track of where they go. If you ever decide to reattach the base you will need this information.

I keep them behind one big piece of glass, but I keep all boxes. When I want to move them it is much easier, when I want to sell them they are worth more.

    ROTLFMAO!

yup, that 275 is not optimal, but there's no other option (still). i hate my mira 512TR too, but, again, no other option that i know of. i REALLY want a NICE black 512TR to go in my lineup Daytona, 512BB, 512TR, and 550 - all black.

    doody.
