It's a write-off for sure. Once the chassis is damaged as badly as that, it'll be too expensive to repair. Perhaps a spare chassis is available from Ferrari.

Down to 398 now? It was bound to happen sooner or later. Still not a pretty picture. Just hope it's not another 'daddy's car taken out for a spin by teenage son' story...

What I don't understand is, why it's on the market. This is a rare really hard to get a hold of auto that is selling at a nice premium. There's nothing else like it on the road. I'd think that unless it's totaled, that no one would get rid of it, crash or no crash. It's not like it's a less exotic like a 575 or a 360 that you can just either go to the resale market or order at the dealer.

it's almost certainly an insurance company deal.

    owner buys enzo.
    owner crashes enzo.
insurance co. declares it totalled and writes $600K check to owner.
insurance co. now owns enzo hulk.
insurance co. isn't set up to deal with it - hires or sells to a dealer to deal it.

OR the owner took his "repair" money from the insco and doesn't want to deal with it anymore - easier to sell the hulk and still walk away with a sizable profit (ins. settlement + hulk sale).

    doody.

This car will be repaired....its the 'hip' car to have today. Every Gold-Chain-wearing LA 'hipster' wants one, somebody will buy it and send it off to be fully restored. I doubt the car will even get dusty before its sold off....

That was Schumi's comment on the car. He hoped the average Joe Millionaire would leave all driver aids "ON"

    Just because you're a Ferrari owner, doesn't mean you're a Ferrari driver!

At the risk of exuding any kind of emotion, wearing my heart on my sleeve and subjecting myself to needless nonsense, it'd be in my best interest to say, "It's just a car..." and move on to another thread...

...but you know i can't do that...

However someone in the original thread that was linked in the first post in this thread did say that these cars ARE meant to be driven and i agree with that; accidents DO happen... First and foremost, i hope the driver/(passenger?) is/are okay... Secondly, i hope this was the result of pushing the car just beyond it's limits and not some stupid amateur mistake... In either case, i hate to see an NNO in this condition...

Does anyone know the serial number on this car...?
